The Mauritius Island’s only Port (Harbor) is in Port Louis. Normally people transport in taxi and buses, there is 1,800 km-road with good network and gives taxi and bus services. If you have a valid international driver’s license you can hire a car with reasonable rates if you’re willing. Or you can manage to go anywhere on the island by using the three main bus services centers operated in separate regions.
Mauritius Airways is a well serviced airport by many main airlines. British Airways, Air France, Singapore Airlines and South African Airways operate weekly flights. Air Mauritius has weekly flight schedules to and from many European cities as well as to and from the major African cities. Like: Cape Town, Durban, Johannesburg, Nairobi and including flights for Bombay, Delhi, Chennai, Hong Kong, Jakarta, Kuala Lumpur, Melbourne, Perth and Singapore is also scheduled.
Air Mauritius (Sir Seewoosagur Ramgoolam International Airport) Location: The airport is 30 miles (48km) south east of Port Louis. They run daily flights from Main Island to Rodrigues Island and back. But the Boat services (Mauritius Pride) makes the 27hrs trip to Rodrigues only few times in a month.
Mauritius Island is a peaceful place, but like many other international tourist destinations, caution should be is exercised with valuables and normal safety precautions. Mauritius also protects its inhabitants and guarantees those human rights, such as freedom of speech, free to choose a religion, freedom for religious ceremonies and the right to own private property
